Re: Google streetview magic
I guess I'm supposed to see something, but at the Google Canada URL you linked to, all I can see is a map.
Of course, I can pick up the address, go to http://maps.google.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and fire up street view, but then I also have to correct the address a bit, change to the intersection marked in your map.
Here's another link, I've created, guess it's the right position.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 3,,0,10.81" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ah, how odd! If google.ca isn't allowed to run scripts by default, it doesn't matter if I enable it after I've arrived to the site. And no, a refresh didn't help. But if I enable it and go to the page again, I see street view. (Guess I'll have to add all kinds of google.xx as trusted sites now. Then we also have the gstatic.com, but it needs to be enabled in all cases.)
They do move fast.

My guess is that it was done on 2 different trips, the jeep in front goes when you step forward?

I suspect it was done to be even-handed to the two Cola companies...

Re: Google streetview magic
It must be some thing that the Google team has done. Take a few steps backwards and the Coke truck is back for each of them. It is just the one step that has the Pepsi truck.

Looking at the shadows and the tree foilage, I suggest that the frame with the Pepsi truck was taken several weeks earlier in the spring of the year.DaveA wrote:It must be some thing that the Google team has done. Re: Google streetview magic
Right you are, Don! At first I thought this was an 'Easter egg' inserted by the nice folks at Google. Now I think it is really only an incredible fluky coincidence. It would appear that the Coke truck was present when they were photographing along Valois Ave. The Pepsi truck was present when they were photographing along Ontario St. They only use one of the shots of the intersections. In this case, only the Pepsi truck can be viewed from the intersection.
Something like this must occur at every intersection.

And I suppose it's just a jump to the left, then a step to the right?

That's ageless!! A true Classic. In the repertoire of wedding reception bands, to show the kids of today what dancing was really like!

My point exactly !!! We've reached the age when the only social events we attend are weddings and funerals.viking33 wrote:Doc,Doc Watson wrote:Please... tell me you're not that old Bob.
