Interesting term. I had to go look up what it was.

(Maybe its a catch-all term when the bureau just doesn't know what the weathers gonna do?!)

The snowshower term is valid, maybe; but does it really snow in Sudbury when it's 19°C? Seems a bit too warm for snow to me, but I do Fahrenheit, not Celsius. Wouldn't that be about 60°F?

Maybe for the Sudbury that John is referring to but Sudbury, MA, sure why not? If you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, it'll change.

Maybe it should have been 19°F ?

Yes - it actually was 19°C, and no - it can't snow when it's that warm (you're correct Bob - 19°C is equivalent to approximately 66°F). This area actually has had the occasional occurrence of snow during June, but these occurrences have also been accompanied by abnormally low temperatures. Obviously it was supposed to read "Rainshower".

Reminds me of another incident several years ago when I had to pull over to the side of the road during a heavy rain storm. Even the windshield wipers set on high speed wouldn't allow me to see properly. The radio in the car was on at the time and the meteorologist from Environment Canada was reading the weather conditions for Sudbury . . . . . . . . including the observation that the probability of precipitation was Zero Percent! :hairout: :flee:

I see the icon also has snow below the cloud. The page probably links an icon to a description (or visa versa) else the author would have it wrong twice; that must have been one STRONG cigarette!!

Thanks, John!

I thought the thing you were pointing out was the discrepancy between temperature, which is probably about normal for June in Sudbury, and the report of snow showers.
