I haven't done this in a long time but I had a very stressful week and yesterday, things started getting better but I still had problems sleeping. So I just sent an email to my boss and I was like, you know, staring at code when.....
So any suggestions as to what I should say in my daily task report?

You could say that you spent time on "personal development"...

Creative downtime? Individual reconstruction? Recuperative apathy? Nefarious snoozage? (chose any first word with any second word!)

Here is a small workbook using John's suggestion to let you pick a reason...

Research! No need to get too specific, you were just busy researching...

Wow...John! How long did it take you to think up those word combinations?? (I hope you didn't have to sleep on it)John Gray wrote:Creative downtime? Individual reconstruction? Recuperative apathy? Nefarious snoozage? (chose any first word with any second word!)

Re: fell asleep at my desk
I survived. Turns out, whilst napping, boss was typing an "Gosh I'm totally sorry I forgot to send your new project to you" email. So it all worked out and I put in my report "got new project from mgr, currently reviewing and preparing a list of questions." So I covered his behind along with mine, I guess.
Of course today, I'm trying to review miles of code so I'm getting up every so often so as to not to nod off again.

I always call it debugging.garbsmj wrote:I haven't done this in a long time but I had a very stressful week and yesterday, things started getting better but I still had problems sleeping. So I just sent an email to my boss and I was like, you know, staring at code when....
Physical exercise always helps me resettle my sleeping patterns and keeps me from falling asleep at work. I'm most likely to have sleeping problems when I have missed workouts, and missed workouts are always due to project overload.
