Mouse Issue?

Post by BobH »

I have a J-Tech Digital ergonomic upright mouse attached to my HP laptop running Windows 10 22H2. On some web pages the content scrolls up and my mouse cursor is at the bottom of the page as if the mouse has rolled. The mouse resides on a mouse pad; it doesn't roll, moving only when I move it. At first I put this down to the web page controls because it was happening consistently on one website and only sporadically on others. I think it's happening more often now.

Is there any diagnostic I can try to find out if I have a Mouse problem?

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

If the mouse pointer moves on its own, i.e. even if you are not holding the device, then that does sound like a hardware problem. Have you checked that the optical sensor is clean and dust free?

IS there any chance that you are moving the mouse cursor by inadvertently brushing a thumb or a finger on the trackpad (assuming that you haven't disabled the trackpad when a mouse is connected)?

Thanks, John. I don't use the laptop keyboard at all; and, yes, I do have the track pad disabled.
