Outdate drivers per Ccleaner

Post by curious »

I got this message and mindful of advice 'if it ain't broke...' was wondering if I should pay attention to the message:
'You have 7 outdated drivers. Update your drivers to help block serious online threats and boost PC performance. Resolve"

Thank you

I wouldn't update drivers unless you are certain that they cause problems.

OTOH, sometimes there are serious security threats addressed with driver updates. I think you need to check the release information about the drivers and decide if you wish to update any.

I wouldn't trust CCleaner for updating drivers. Today, it suggested updating the driver for Dell Peripheral Manager (I have a wireless Dell keyboard and mouse) to version 1.2.0.30.

However, I already have that version:

Here's another vote for not trusting Ccleaner's driver updater. One of the updates it offers me is for a Xeon processor. No thanks, my PC does not have a Xeon processor.
