Since the recent Tuesday Microsoft updates to Windows 7 etc, I am getting this pop up screen message from Secunia PSI 2 multiple times:
1 New Programme. Microsoft Malware Protection 1.x (64Bit) (Patched)
I guess that it relates to MSE. Any ideas if this is an OK message/never seen it before/should I check something? Maybe Secunia is a bit 'locked up'.

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials
Hei Hans,
That was quick!
I just tried something ... did an Update to MSE and almost straight after this message pops up or it seems an alternative that says 'Removed'. Will check a few more times after there are actual MSE updates available. I have also just checked this on my Vista pc and get the same messages. Maybe Secunia have started to list these updates?
So try doing a manual update if you can ... though I think you now use Secunia 3 and not the PSI 2 that I stayed with.

Yes, I'm using Secunia PSI 3. I'll let you know what happens later on.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials
Secunia 3 didn't display any message when I ran it on my home PC, before or after updating MSE.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials
Thanks for checking Hans.
It seems with Secunia PSI 2 that they are 'monitoring each MSE update. I have just updated again manually (which is what I mostly do rather than waiting for MSE to auto update) and Secunia give this message ...
I guess that 'all is well' since I get it on both pc's but if others in our Forum have this same message I would appreciate comment here. I might also check this in the Secunia forum.
Thanks again
Ron

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials
If it irritates you, you can tell Secunia PSI to ignore this application.

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials
Certainly not an 'irritation' factor Hans. Rather I was concerned that 'some malware' was messing with my pc's But both MSE and Malwarebytes show both pc's to be clean.HansV wrote:If it irritates you, you can tell Secunia PSI to ignore this application.

Follow up 'research' shows that this is a genuine product update report ... I must learn to walk before I can run
