Send a DL (not "TO" a DL)

Post by ErikJan »

I created a distribution list (DL) in Outlook and I'd like to share that DL with others. How do I do that?

(for clarity: I do not want to send an email to the people in the DL. I want to send the DL to someone who can then use it as well)

I saw that. Doesn't seem to work like this in MSO365

Sorry. I couldn't find anything that worked with Outlook Version 2402 Build 16.0.17328.20124.

Pity BTW... I'd like to think this would be useful and logical (but who am I )

I think you should file this in the Feedback hub. The support article Hans linked clearly states that it should work for Outlook 365.

You can also do this - select the DL in People, go to File | Save As, save as a text file. Forward the text file as an attachment. On the recipient system, open a new Contact, open the text file, copy all the DL list names at once, paste into the members section of the contact, save the new contact.

Thanks, I retried the method described by the article Hans posted and I got it to work.

I'm guessing I didn't test this in the right way earlier (or it was foxed since).

In any case, it's solved now :-)
