No Search Engine

Post by BobH »

I noticed recently that my Firefox (35.0.1) fails to find a search engine when I click to add a new tab. Previously, my preferred search engine always appeared with the new tab. I have standard pages that load in tabs when I open FX and they all continue to have a search engine appearing. I can't seem to find the settings for search preferences.

 :chocciebar: :thankyou:

Whoops: Forgot the screenshot of FX search options.

To clarify further, the search box in the toolbar is active. It is the search bar within the page (outlined in red in SS) that is inactive.

Weird - a search turns up hundreds of web pages about removing that search box, but none about making it work...
Best wishes,
