Good morning
I would like to copy some data from one column to another and preserve the degree sign, is it possible to format the receiving cell woth a special format so that when a number is inserted it shows, for example in D25 I have 16.2o and in G25 I want to put =D25 and copy it exactly and if possible add a C so the receiving cell would look like 16.2oC

You can apply a custom format 0.0° to the cell.

Hi HansHansV wrote:You can apply a custom format 0.0° to the cell.
Thank you for that but I did already try to do this, I typed in 0.0o and then highlighted the o but could not format it it to superscript, I do not have an option in the Customs list that already shows a degree sigh, do I have to have an add in or toolpack installed to do it?

In Windows, select Start | All Programs | Accessories | system Tools | Character Map.
Click on the degree symbol, click Select, then click Copy.
You can now paste the degree symbol into the Type box in the Format Cells dialog in Excel.

Maybe Numeric Lock on, then Alt+248 on the numeric pad would do it? °

Yes, of course, but then you have to know the numeric code to use.
It works with NumLock off too (at least in the Format Cells dialog); alternatively you can use Alt+0176. You can find this in ... Character Map.
