I have a spreadsheet that reports "Security Warning Automatic update of links has been disabled" whenever I open it.
I found the Hilite Filters.XLA file, copied it to my addins folder and enabled it as an add-In, but this didn't help either. So I removed it as an add-in again.
How can I remove this link?
If I go to Data > Connections > Edit Links then I see that this is from the Hilite Filters add-on that I haven't used for a long time
I tried clicking the Break Link button, but this didn't seem to do anything. How can I clear this link

Insert-Name-Define
there should be a name that links to the add-in I think. If so, delete it.

In Excel 2007 I tried (Formulas tab > Defined Names > Name Manager) but the only names are simple ranges that I have defined myselfrory wrote:Insert-Name-Define

Re: How can I clear this link
There should be a worksheet-level name called IsFilterOn set to =FilterOn(RC) and also some conditional formatting that uses this name (in the header row).

Re: How can I clear this link
Try Jan Karel Pieterse's Name Manager add-in, it is much more comprehensive than its built-in namesake.
You may also find Bill Manville's FindLink add-in useful - see The Excel MVP Page.

Re: How can I clear this link
Thank you all. Jan Karel's utility found the defined name for me, it was a worksheet level name, and I hadn't realised that the built in name manager only showed worksheet level names for the currently selected sheet.
This workbook has many worksheets, and I just hadn't checked the right one!
I have deleted this name and the message has gone away.

That's just one of the reasons why Jan Karel's add-in is so handy!
