Hi,
Can anyone tell me the deference between Excel Binary and Macro Enabled Workbook.
I have a macro enabled workbook which is 13 MB in size. In order to reduced the size I've saved it as a Binary workbook which reduced the size to 3MB.
Will a binary workbook not have all the functions as of a Macro Enabled workbook?
Any help on this would be kindly appreciated.

Re: Excel Binary Workbook
Hi Adam,
Rather than retyping all the differences, have a look at these links to get a full description of the differences between the formats and their pro's and con's...
A detailed discussion on the difference between xlsb and xlsm. Lots of good links and points made in this thread...
- When should the xlsm or xlsb formats be used?
A straightforward article on the differences between the two formats
- Advantages of .xlsb Excel Binary Workbook Format
Another useful article on the xlsb format
- Reduce file size and load/save time with .xlsb format
Something else to remember:
This file extension can not be used by non-Excel applications (such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other eternal apps), so if these systems access your Excel file, then this file format should not be used.
