Hi,
I have a word document with hundreds of pages. I have a multilevel numbering, when pasting, I have the following issue:
1. The first question
a. This is a
b. This is b
c. This is c
2. The second question
a. This is a
b. This is b
c. This is c
The above is the Original List
Hereunder is the Pasted New List
1. The third question (The numbering should be 3)
a. This is a
b. This is b
c. This is c
2. The fourth question (Should be 4)
d. This is a (The List changed to d,e,f)
e. This is b
f. This is c
Any help is highly appreciated!
Thank you

Right click on the paragraph that should be number 3.
Select "Continue numbering" from the menu

Re: Multilevel numbered list changes when you paste a new li
It continues as E, F, J instead of 3,4
The partial solution is the format painting from above. But the child list is still showing d,e,f.

In that case there may be something wrong with the numbering scheme that you are using.
Can you select the FIRST question (the one with number 1)
then click the little downarrow next to the multilevel list button
choose "Define new multilevel list"
Click on the a) or whatever your list shows in the first indent position
Check that "Restart list after: Level 1" is checked.
