Latest updates - slow load

Microsoft have done it to me AGAIN.
The Windows updater is installing updates following shutdown: still only at 30 of 35 after 11.5 HOURS

Fortunately it's not my main computer but it would be nice to turn off its power

Sounds to me like it crashed, I haven't ever heard of an update taking that long... Have you tried resetting the PC ?

That's strange - it should take only a few minutes, not hours...

Something did not work right. You may have to redo this update.

I had to resort to a forced power down and restart. It proceeded to install SP1 and another 3 updates on next shutdown

Cross fingers all is well..

Sounds like you need to take control of when WU updates are downloaded and when they are installed.
