Windows Backup backing up for 18+ hours

Post by jmt356 »

I am running Windows Backup on my PC. When I launched it, it stated, "This might take a few minutes, we'll let you know when the backup is complete." The apps, settings and credentials backed up quickly. However, the folders have been backing up for over 18 hours. Is this normal?

I suspect something is wrong. Is there a way to check on the progress and confirm whether the backup is working? I have 425 GB of apps and data to back up. I wouldn't expect it to take over 18 hours to back up these files.

That does not surprise me. What is your upload speed?

224 Mbps download; 184 Mbps upload
It is still running, 2 days later. I think something is wrong.

How fast can you upload a 1GB file to a different place such as Google drive or some other online repository? Multiply by 425 and add a fudge factor for OneDrive overhead. That should give you an approximate time. Also, realize that any other activity on your PC will most likely take precedence over the backup.
