Expanded Lounge Display?

Post by Sundog »

Recently my accessing the Lounge has resulted in an expanded display that uses up way too much screen space. Is it my system? [Firefox 3.6.10 under Windows Vista Enterprise Service Pack 1 (build 6001)]

Does the problem persist if you refresh the browser, or if you close and restart it?

(I don't have this problem in Firefox 3.6.10 or Internet Explorer 8, on both Windows XP and Windows 7)

Yes, it persists/reoccurs if I refresh or close and restart.

A week ago it looked like your attachment!

Looks OK using MS IE, tho.

Does a similar problem occur on other discussion boards using phpBB, for example phpBB • Community Home?

Try emptying your Firefox cache - it usually acts as a universal panacea for me!

Did you install a new add-on or extension (or a new version of an existing add-on or extension) shortly before the problem started?

What happens if you temporarily disable all add-ons and extensions?

Hans

Hard to tell, I have many. Is there a way to find out when an add-on was installed?

Started Firefox in Safe Mode, alles gut. Now to track down the offender.

Not really, you'd have to look at the Extensions folder under your Firefox profile.

Deleted the first 22 add-ons, problem went away.

Next try half of those, etc.

Forex Currency Converter is the culprit. Disabling this add-on removes the problem, re-enabling it causes it to come back. I have uninstalled it.

I suggest an Admin may wish to duplicate or move this thread to the Mozilla Firefox forum.

I posted a review indicating the problem, but I don't see it on their board yet. Maybe it's being moderated?

Quite likely. Or maybe they need to convert it into their local currency before they can read it...
