Still have this problem: After "Remove from this list," the files keeps repopulating
I have tried suggestions in https://geekchamp.com/how-to-fix-jump-l ... indows-11/ which includes going to Task Manager Processes, right clicking on Windows Explorer & restarting;
Rebuilding the Jump List
Ran SFC Scan
Going to Folder Options & clearing File Explorer history
This has been ongoing for about 2 months. Is it just me? Thank you

Re: Jump list (Recent) files keep repopulating
If you don't want recent files in jump lists:
- Select Start > Options > Personalization > Start.
- Clear the check box "Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists and File Explorer".
- Select Start > Options > Personalization > Start.
- Clear the check box "Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists and File Explorer".
Best wishes,
Hans

Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. I do want Recents but I do not want the ones I Removed to keep appearing.

Re: Jump list (Recent) files keep repopulating
Try turning off "Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists and File Explorer" and then turning it on again. That should clear the lists, and "old" items shouldn't reappear (unless you open them explicitly again, of course).
Best wishes,
Hans

Hans, that was one of the first things I tried. But, thanks for the suggestion!

That sort of action often indicates a corrupted cache file. Did you delete the files(s) as show in the linked article? Note, there are different cache files for various applications. If you are concerned about one particular program you may need to delete just its cache file.

Re: Jump list (Recent) files keep repopulating
Morning, JoeP - Not sure what files delete you are referring to. I did rebuild the jump list, didn't help. Is this what I would run to delete the cache:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache
Thank you
Or, in File/Options/Save, Cache Settings and deleting the cached files there be a fix? Am afraid to try it for fear screwing up....
OK - I did click Delete Cache Files, restarted, Recent still populated
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache
Thank you

I have a similar problem to this, I sometimes see that Word jump lists are populated with documents that I haven't touched for years. It seems to happen after using ccleaner or manually clearing out the jump lists.
