Good morning
I use OWA (Outlook Web Access) when I am away from the office but find the functionality pretty poor, for instance typing in every address that is not in our (very limited) Global address book.
Does anybody have any tips our tricks that makes OWA a bit easier and nicer to work with?

Re: OWA
Yes, get your IT dept to install Exchange Server 2007! OWA in that is a considerable improvement on the version in ES2003 (there are other headaches, though).
There are probably add-ons for OWA in ES2003, but I never got round to investigating them, because they would cost £lots for just a few of us.
An alternative might be a VPN with Remote Desktop?

Hi John
IT department, isn't that a mythical beast?
We have 40 people n the UK in Middlesex, Cheshire, Exeter inthe UK and offices opened in the last 18 months in Sydney, Melbourne, 5 locations in India, Singapore and Beijing and Shanghai. I am the IT (they once saw me swith a PC on and that was it) I was nominated and in among my (many) other jobs at the Company I am the puppet of a support Company, reboot this, repatch that etc.
We have just upgraded to 2003 Enterprise so I doubt they will upgrade again any time soon. I will look around for some third party stuff

Re: OWA
I am the IT department, too - but with just two locations, fortunately!
I would seriously suggest the (software) VPN, defined trivially on XP, together with Remote Desktop. They work together extremely well. This morning I VPNed/Remote Desktop-ed into my work PC, then from there Remote Desktop-ed into a colleague's PC to set up an Outlook Rule to forward her incoming emails to her home email address.

Re: OWA
For one thing, use IE with OWA instead of another browser - MS adds several features in the IE OWA "Premium" version (MS also calls it the "rich" version) that improve its flexibility - see the functionality section here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlook_Web_Access" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and see also http://www.slipstick.com/exs/owa.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.steveh wrote:Does anybody have any tips our tricks that makes OWA a bit easier and nicer to work with?
