YouTube Private Messaging

[I've put this in the 'butt' because I couldn't figure out where else it might go. Please remove it to its proper category if need be.]

Does anyone know if it is possible any longer to privately message YouTube content creators? I've found old how-tos that are obsolete as proven by screen formats that are no longer presented.

I've been told that YouTube discontinued the private messaging channel because it was little used. If you can confirm that, I'd be much obliged to know that, too.

As of July 9, 2018, the ability to send, receive, or read private messages in Creator Studio is no longer available. We made this change because this feature was not widely used, and will allow us to focus on the features and tools that matter most to you. All private messages have therefore been deleted from Creator Studio and anywhere else on YouTube.
