File view 'over view'

HI all

Prior to using the office suite 2010 I could open a folder full of documents and at the bottom was a grey toolbar of properties where you could change the author, add sub authors, subjects, dates etc.

Does anybody have an idea how I can activate this again?

In the past versions of Office I stored all of my Word, P and Excels in separate folders. When I open any of the folders and one of the documents was highlighted there was a grey menu bar which I think was a part of the 'File View' scenario, from within that toolbar you could easily make the changes you require by clicking in a box next to the label.

This is actually a Windows feature, not an Office feature.

For example, in Windows 7, start Windows Explorer.
On the toolbar, click Organize > Layout > Details Pane.
This will display the Details pane at the bottom of the Windows Explorer window.

In Windows 10, start File Explorer.
Click View > Details Pane.
The Details Pane will be displayed on the right hand side of the File Explorer window.

Alternatively, right-click any Office document in Windows Explorer (File Explorer in Windows 8 and later).
Select Properties from the context menu.
Activate the Details tab.
