Indeed Leif. I wonder how many current loungers are aware that she made all the Smillies used here, but to think it's already that it's already 8 years ago, quite amazing, hopefully, we'll be going on for a long time. And hopefully more professional than the last place here
Cheers, Claude.

It's sad that we don't have Eileen among us, but I'm happy that we have this place named after her, so that her name lives on.
Best wishes,

It is a pity that more Internet communities didn't have Eileen's guiding hand. This place is unique.

She created a very special place, indeed, and the reason we are here.

Thank you Leif and all admins!

Eileen's Lounge is a wonderful place to come and I think it reflects what Eileen was all about. Helpfulness and friendliness!

I was lucky enough to have a little bit of interaction with her, which I thought was really special. And my regret was that I hadn't found the Lounge sooner than I had!

I've enjoyed my time spent here reading, interacting and learning! And I appreciate that this current lounge was created in her memory! Thank you for those responsible for keeping the rest of us tucked into a safe and knowledgeable environment on the web!

And :yep: , I love Eileen's "smilies"! :clapping:
:thankyou:

Eileen was not only a leader by example, and had an ability to recruit and inspire a dedicated group of torchbearers, but she set the tone for a supportive, always considerate and civilised group of experts and amateurs in "her" Lounge. A quick glance at so many other online computer groups reveals how exceptional this "family" is- the nastiness and ill-humour which pervades so many other groups makes one's toes curl. Thank you Eileen and all who keep the good ship Eileen's Lounge afloat and thriving.

Eileen sounds like a lovely lady, and I am SOOOO glad she established Eileen's Lounge, and the rules, the way she did. I've been on other discussion groups and bulletin boards, and sometimes the sniping and mean-ness is just awful. This is a great place to learn and enjoy other folks. Thanks, all you Administrators and members, for making this a great place.

Well, in fact Eileen passed away more than five years before this board was created. She was one of the founders of another board, Woody's Lounge, where Charlotte, Claude, Leif, Mike, Stuart and I were administrators. When Woody's Lounge was taken over and became the Windows Secrets Lounge, we wanted to recreate the cosy atmosphere of the "old" Lounge, so we started a small new board, and to honor Eileen's memory, we named it after her.
Best wishes,
Hans

This is a really friendly board. I can't remember the last time the dreaded wart gun was used in anger! :wartgun:

I never knew Eileen.

But her legacy (clearly) still lives on.
