Keepass is, I think, still free.

I have migrated to Roboform - it is NOT free - for most pw management but retail Keepass for some of its features. I gave up on trying to keep them in sync. I found it easier to choose the primary one as Roboform while checking Keepass if there is nothin in roboform.

Well unfortunately those two password managers now charge too. Or, at least they require a credit card when you sign up. I have decided to keep my passwords off-line in some way I will think up.

Thanks for your suggestions.

If you do decide to keep them off line, as I do, then a password protected Excel file works great. I have used that method for at least 25 years. just don't forget that one password.

I have used Firefox's free built-in password manager (and its predecessor, LockWise) for many years. Chrome and Edge also have built-in password managers (as may other browsers) although I have no experience with them. They may all be rudimentary compared to '$$$ premium $$$' password managers, but they are probably infinitely better than any home-made solution I could come up with.

One feature I find very handy with Firefox password manager is that I can sync passwords across Windows, iOS and iPadOS platforms as well as any other platform that supports Firefox.

Other features include vulnerable password detection, long and complex password generation, auto-fill password, strong encryption and more.

Paul

Thanks for the nudge. I found, downloaded, and installed 1.5.

No need to invent a solution when one exists. I've use PasswordSafe for years:

No cloud connection, no cost.
