Re: A RED 1
I'd guess it means there is something in Settings that is either new or needs your attention. What happens if you tap on Settings to see if there is another flag on one of the options presented, and tap again on that option, and so on until you reach the bit that is notifying you?

Re: A RED 1
Hello Ken, sorry for the late reply, not getting Email notified.
When I got an email when using my Version 10 oppo phone, the Gmail icon would go from none to a red 1 if i opened it, it disappeared.
On my version 14 Samsung Galaxy S22, when I get an Email nothing shows. On opening the app, then closing it, that is when the red dot appears.
I have been assisted by my brother who also has a Samsung which he copied his settings to mine and his works but mine does not.

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

Umm, don't follow you. What's Gmail got to do with the red one in your screenshot, where the red one is on Settings?

Re: A RED 1
Umm, again, yes I get that, but can't help you with that.
What I don't understand is what that has to do with the screenshot in your first post, where the red one is NOT on your Gmail app, it's on the settings app.

Umm, again, again. In your first post, you clearly state:
You really don't make it easy for people to help you.
Ken

The one I had on my Settings app, I searched it thoroughly without success, till i found a restart seems to fix it.
