Mailstore

Post by aekyall »

I have just updated Mailstore to version 24.3 from 24.2 and Google is now refusing to grant it access! I have checked my Google account access permissions and it is noted as being allowed. Can anyone suggest how I can regain access please?
Thank you.
Keith

The most probable explanation is that Mailstore fumbled its security in the update. Can you contact them?
Best wishes,

To tidy this thread up. I received the following from MailStore:

//Google and Microsoft are tightening the security requirements for their free email services gmail, outlook.com, hotmail and live.com. In the short term, this can lead to undesirable effects when archiving with MailStore.

Both providers enforce the use of “Modern Authentication” when logging on to their free email services and require verified client applications. This change poses additional challenges for third-party vendors.

MailStore customers who archive emails from Gmail accounts currently receive a warning that the application is not verified. In some cases, new logins are also blocked. We are working on a re-verification of our application with a Google-authorized test lab. Unfortunately, we cannot speed up this process. We therefore ask affected customers to be patient for a few more days. The application is then expected to work again without any further changes to the affected systems.

Microsoft has also announced that it will enforce “Modern Authentication” with OAUTH 2.0 at outlook.com, hotmail.com and live.com. We are also preparing a solution for this, which we expect to make available in one of the next software releases. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Microsoft freemailers may also temporarily experience similar difficulties.
//

Hopefully it will get resolved shortly!

Keith
