I don't know whether it's something I've done, or a new Firefox "feature", but the top search box suddenly has expanded to be full-width and occupy the top about-1/3rd of the Firefox pane.
I find this annoying, and would like to revert to whatever happened previously.
Does anyone else have this problem, please?

Several more lines appear in the pane, but I have removed them.

Firefox 133.0 on Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.4460 still looks as it always has for me

Mozilla Help says:
Hold the mouse cursor between the address bar and the search bar until it turns to a double headed arrow. Then you can drag it back and forth to resize the address bar.
This assumes you know where the address bar and search bar are physically located on the screen.
So no Help at all...

As far as I know, these days, the search bar (as opposed to the address bar) does not appear by default. You and add it though, by right clicking on the toolbar and choosing the customise option.

Re: Firefox search has expanded to full width
I discover from a Reddit post that the problem was that I needed an updated version of usrChrome.css to fix my "search_bar_history_window_too_wide_after_update" problem!
Thanks for replies!

Ah!, so another example of how trying to stop the tide of new features coming in by hacking the new to behave like the old means you end up with wet feet.

Rather a Canuteial referencer, eh?!
I was annoyed by the extended spacing between rows on menus, so reduced it to a sensible value...

Re: Firefox search has expanded to full width
Yes, that 'feature' irritated me too when it appeared. I did fix it as you did but it wasn't long before another FF update meant another manually tweak to again fix the menu spacing so I gave up and learnt to live with Progress.
Meanwhile on a high res screen, like the 2K panel on my laptop, the wide spacing is needed to make it all readable.
It may be annoying but I've realised that going against the flow of whatever Big IT are pushing is not worth the effort.
