Re: FireFox Not Closing As it Should
Another question about FireFox. I believe I have everything set correctly, please see attachment, but FireFox is not asking me to save my sign in credentials for my Apple account. It was working yesterday when I had to count on it remembering those credentials from over 2 years ago in order to change my password. After changing it I have signed in a few times to get it to remember my new password but it isn't asking me. Any idea why and how I can correct it?

Try deleting the existing stored password and then recreate it from scratch

Re: FireFox Not Closing As it Should
Thank you for the reply. It does not have any existing stored password at all now. It remembers my username but I have to manually enter the password each time. Yesterday it remembered my password from a couple years ago and I was happy it did or I may never have been able to sign in to my account. My phone, when trying to download and app would not accept what I new was my correct password. Granted, I may have typed it wrong but not 4 times in a row.
I called Apple support and they had no answer for me and said I needed to change my password. Long story short, my phone wouldn't allow me to do that because it has no pass-code and entering that is one of the steps with no way around it. Even Apple support had no solution. I have never used pass-code, ever. So, I had to change my password using my PC. Once it was changed, signing into my account on the PC never offered to save he password again. Since that is what saved me yesterday, I was hoping to get FF to remember it again.

Are you sure?
Double check as follows:
In Firefox, click on the 'hamburger' icon (the three horizontal bars) in the top right corner
* From the menu that drops down, click on 'Passwords'
* A new tab will open that lists all the logins that FF has stored
* Either use the search function at the top of the left hand pane
* Or browse the list
* Delete every entry you come across that has anything to do with Apple
* Having done that, restart FF (just to be sure)
* Now try logging in to Apple again, hopefully FF will behave as if this is the first time you've logged in and ask you if you want it to remember the login details

Re: FireFox Not Closing As it Should
I followed your instructions. I found an occurrence of apple. It was idmsa.apple.com. I looked it up and it says,
I deleted it and signed into my apple account. I then signed out of the account, gave it a few minutes and signed in again. Here is what I saw. Please not the box outlined in red to remember me. It is checked. To be sure I signed in again and signed out again. I was faced with the same box, it remembers my name but not my password. So I followed your steps again to see if FF remembered any passwords associated with apple. Here is what I saw. It shows no passwords found.
It is the same thing I was faced with yesterday, FF just isn't saving my new password. In ordinary circumstances, it would be no big deal. I don't mind having to put the password in every time I sign in. What is a big deal is if Apple forgets or refuses to accept, what I know is my password, like they did the other day when I entered it on my phone.
Thank you very much for your help.
IDMSA (full name idmsa.apple.com) is the name of the guard shack at the proverbial security fence built around Apple, and you have to show your badge and your secret passcode to the guard be permitted to access within the fenced perimeter at Apple.

This is awful strange. I signed into my apple account using Google Chrome. It offered to save both my userid and password. I told it to save them. I signed in again and the only thing it remembered was my userid, just like FF.

Re: FireFox Not Closing As it Should
I just got off the phone with apple support. Even though he had no great answers as to why things are the way they are now, between the 2 of us, we got Google Chrome working for me. It worked right off the bat for him. Very similar to the steps I took if FF, I deleted anything to do with passwords concerning apple. The thing I was not doing that I ended up having to do in Chrome, was click in the password field, it did not fill the password field but it did open a small dialog box with both my userid and password in it. I clicked on that and it signed me in. So, I will be using Chrome any time I need it to remember my apple password. Again, thanks for your help.

Re: FireFox Not Closing As it Should
I forgot to say in the post above that the fellow from Apple also tried signing in using FF and it did not ask him to save the his credentials either. His instance of FF was new since he just downloaded in while we were on the phone. Something must have changed in FF especially when dealing with an apple account. Though he knew nothing about that. In FF I still have saved passwords from other sites but I haven't created any new ones lately.
