Preview address

Post by jmt356 »

There used to be a horiztonal taskbar at the bottom of my IE window that showed the address that any particular link pointed to when my pointer stood over the link. I was thus able to anticipate where I would be taken if I clicked the link. Currently, either because I upgraded to IE 8 or because I inadvertently changed my settings, that taskbar is no longer visible. Is it still available in IE 8 and if so, how do I bring it back?
Regards,

JMT

Bear in mind that some links are coded to have a script intercept your click, so the destination you see is not necessarily the actual destination. For example, if you use Facebook, compare the simple-looking link that shows in the Status bar with the monstrosity that appears on the address bar...and that's a benign example.
