I appear to have contributed to six threads in which Sputnik (1957) is mentioned. Here comes a short thread on Sputnik, so Number seven, right?
According to Karl Kruszelnicki I didn't see Sputnik back in 1957. He writes that I could not have seen Sputnik with my then naked 11-year old eyes.
Karl writes that I saw the second stage of the rocket which (stage) was orbiting in company with Sputnik.
I sit corrected; sixty-eight years of my memories down the tubes ...
