Madeira panoramas

Post by stuck »

As I noted on my blog, I failed to install MS ICE on my laptop before Ieft home so I couldn't stitch any panoramas while I was away. Now I'm home though...

Here's a five frame one looking down on Curral das Freiras from Eira do Serrado.

This is a three frame shot, taken in Curral das Freiras, near where the road enters the tunnel on the road out towards Lombo Chão.

This one's on the north coast, at the Eira da Achada viewpoint. The haze in the picture is the cool Atlantic air condensing into cloud as it meets the heat of the island. It made for a hot and humid stop.

A Vast-or-amic improvement on the Kodak Instamatic  shots in the blog.
This Englishman asks nothing of any other Englishman, except that one Yorkshire-man adds these stitched images to the all-too-brief blog.
Cheers, Chris

Lounging persons might be interested to see a few aeroplane landings at Funchal = Madeira airport travelling south-west to north-east. This is a very tricky manoeuvre, as you will observe.
Note the atmospheric tolling of the local church bell during the EasyJet landing!

Because the wind was different, Ken landed in the considerably-easier opposite direction, straight in... :groovin:

But delightful to watch the jets float down to the runway!

On our return journey we took off north east to south west so we got to enjoy the 180deg turn back to the NE, with the plane at a crazy angle as it banked and climbed.

I've just found the inevitable Tom Scott video about the extension of the runway at Funchal!

Ken - I think you would have found it so interesting to have landed in the direction in which you took off!
