If I set the Lock Screen timeout to 1, 3 or 5 minutes, it locks fine, but if I set it to 10 minutes, it never locks.
This appears to be the case on multiple PCs - all W11 - on our network, and tested multiple times, even leaving overnight fails to work.
Our "IT support" created a group policy which worked for a few days but the situation has resorted to where we need to set a lock screen timout of 5 minutes or less if we want this feature to work.
Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this?

Re: Lock Screen not working
Could there be something that runs regularly (at an interval between 5 and 10 minutes) and causes the timer to reset?

Re: Lock Screen not working
Quite likely - the problem is isolating what it is!
Even with everything shut down (e.g. Outlook) the Lock Screen doesn't work. After a reboot, it will lock after 10 minutes with a blank screen waiting for a log in, but as soon as you have logged in, something is causing a problem...

I guess you could try working your way through everything in task scheduler disabling entries until you find it - if you're lucky
Alternatively you could just use the power menu to turn off the display after 10 minutes

They appear to be joined at the hip - change one and it changes the other!
Update - a 'new policy' has been put in place which looks like it might be working. I'd still like to know what the cause is though!

Re: Lock Screen not working
I found a setting that works using Bluetooth that locks your pc if you move away from it. Sadly I never used it as I never had a smart phone at that time.
If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

Re: Lock Screen not working
Thanks, but personally I am not Bluetooth enabled!
If you mean that it would work in conjunction with my mobile, typically I leave this on my desk when I leave it. And it wouldn't help the dozen or so other PC's similary afflicted, nor be of much use if, like today, I managed to leave my mobile at home...

Re: Lock Screen not working
I remembered why I can't use bluetooth to my phone to unlock my PC, it's because my phone is connected to my headset by bluetooth, and it can't connect to two things at the same time, so if I use it with my PC too then it picks one or other at random to connect to.

Re: Lock Screen not working
Thanks, but these PCs are all Dell AIOs, on a domain network, and - as the forum title suggests - running Windows 11.
