Perhaps the most significant question is:
Why are those files being created in a subfolder of the somewhat-protected folder Program Files (x86) rather than in a somewhere more logical 'user area', where permissions is/are not normally an issue?

I have no idea of why the software is writing them to that folder, I just know that it is being written.

I have not worked through the examples, but the material shows promise, especially the business of visiting each directry/folder within a tree.
