A better source of recipes.

Post by ChrisGreaves »

We ate fish paste on toast or sandwiches as kids; the Anglo cuisine of the 50s and 60s.
Capelin (smelts) are free here in June.
I decided to make fish paste.
(1) I figured clean and chop the fish, add seasoning, oil, boil, pulp, bottle.
(2) Look on the web for recipes, just to be on the safe side.
Most of (2) returned how to make Asian fish paste and fish cakes, whereas I was thinking of little glass pots of spreadable gunk.

During step (2) I stumbled over "METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INSTANT FISH PASTE GRUEL PRODUCT"
Now, maybe I don't want to make fish gruel, or "chum" to attract marlin, but it seems to me that one could do worse than decode a recipe described in a patent by a commercial manufacturer who wants to make lots of money by selling a high-quality product.

Why aren't we searching patent database for recipes?

Cheers
chris
