It was bit wet yesterday. The rain started at about 11:30 and didn't stop until around 19:00 when, quite suddenly, this rainbow appeared.

I presume the bow was not bright enough for a secondary bow to appear?
I once saw a tertiary bow from the hills above Dartmouth - never before or since.
