Chromebook Image

Post by Ted Myers »

Hello, I am getting images like this on my Chromebook, other sites are normal. I use Prosilver. Size is perfect on Win 10 Laptop.
If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

Try deleting all the Eileen's Lounge cookies that Chrome may be holding...

Looks like a problem with the way the browser on your Chromebook renders the page. Do other styles (skins) have the same problem?
Best wishes,
Hans

Hello Hans, I have visited Windows 7 & 10 Forums on Chromebook & Win 10 Laptop. Only Eileen's on Chromebook is wrong i.e. too small. I tried changing Board Style, Prosilver Special Edition is the best.

I guess you'll have to live with it, or visit Eileen's Lounge on your Windows laptop.
Best wishes,

Hans, I used to prefer the Chromebook as it powered on faster than Win10, now I use it more often as there is more I can do on it.
P.S. What are allowed types & sizes of attachments?

I know nothing about Chrome and even less about a Chromebook but could it be that you've accidentality set the zoom level for Eileens Lounge to something less than 100%?

I ask because on Windows, Firefox remembers the zoom setting for each site. I suspect Chrome behave similalrly.

Hello, the 2 images were taken on my Win 10 laptop. Page zoom set to 110% on both. I have not included the one from Chromebook as its a pain to do.

Other than changing the zoom factor to 100% or more, go to the settings and search for display. There you can change it by increment of 5%. Setting it to 105% or more makes for Eileen's Lounge display bigger on chromebook effectively changing screen resolution.

My post was meant to address that in Chromebook. Chromebook settings could be access from the 3 vertical dots at the upper right hand corner or the cog gear clicking the bottom right system tray.

Searching for Display will allow you to set different screen resolution (there are high end chromebooks with native high resolutions) depending on your viewing preferences your preferred setting here will become the new default. Mind you not all site will show on these new default. Zooming is another way to make a website look bigger/wider or smaller and this could also be done in the chromebook Settings.

Font size (very small to very large range) may also be a factor in your view preferences and could also be change inside the Chromebook settings. I noticed in Eileen's Lounge on the theme I selected chromebook font settings is not effective.

My preferences in viewing a website narrower or wider is using the mouse wheel and the Ctrl key combination. Above 110% the view becomes wider and the font size starts to get bigger and this is true in Eileen's Lounge with my preferred user theme.

Does this make sense?

Hello jolas, your input is really appreciated but not of any use in the present circumstances. Its only Eileen's Lounge that's wrong on Chromebook, other sites in Chromebook are perfect and on FF & Chrome Browser. I am also happy annoying them, will tell you about it later.

I have a similar issue to that Ted is having; however, I am using an HP laptop with a second display device attached and Windows 10 2004 with the Firefox browser. Screenshots of display and display settings below. My skin is Latte Red.

I suspect the custom scale settings but have not yet explored that.
