Retaining embedded documents while converting to pdf

Hi,

I have a word file wherein I have embedded 2-3 excel files on different pages. When I'm converting the word to pdf only the icon appears in the pdf - when I click the icon, the embedded files does not open.

Is there a way out to retain the embedded files in word or ppt while converting them to pdf instead of re-attaching the embedded files in the converted pdf.

Ok, just got one way.. instead of saving word or ppt as pdf, open acrobat and then create a pdf from file. This works.

It can't be done directly from Word.
