Although Paul Edstein (aka Macropod) has shown that it is possible to do amazing things with calculations in Word, the field codes required are complicated, and out of most users' comfort zone...

They are out of my comfort zone. Had I answered it would have been with a UserForm and I suspect not that helpful going through translation.
I use fields in my own billing but it took me close to a year to get the bugs out and I still end up tweaking it.
