Power Query Function list not displaying
Hi,
I am using Excel 2016 and when typing a function name normally it should list the function available, in my case it does not. Is there a way to make it to list them like the example I have here enclosed below?

Re: Power Query Function list not displaying
The autocomplete lists are a fairly new feature in PQ.
My version (where the autocomplete is working) is:
2.75.5649.941 32-bit
What version are you using?
You can check the version under DATA > GET DATA > QUERY OPTIONS
In the dialog, select DIAGNOSTICS on the left panel.

Hi Rudi,
my version is: 2.75.5649.941 32-bit
It is the same version you are using, so what is different or can be set to allow the auto complete?
Regards,
Chuck

Hi Hans,
I guess Rudy is on Vacation since he did not respond to my question and look forward from to let me know whether there is any particular setting that I should be doing in order to have the auto-complete list when typing in the formula? On the other hand I would like to wish you all at Eileen's lounge a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Re: Power Query Function list not displaying
My apologies for a late reply. I have no idea why you are not getting these autocomplete lists?
I'll see if I can dig up some reasons or find a solution and let you know.
Cheers

I have the same build as you, Chuck, and I don't have that option either...
Best wishes,

Re: Power Query Function list not displaying
This is really weird that Microsoft does not have for the same version some consistence in the screen lookup and functions. I even tried to update but it says you're up-to-date.

My version is similar to yours.
If you click on the "About Excel" button, this is the details. Is yours similar?
I'm not sure what more to suggest?

Hi,
Are you actually on Office 365. According to the below article, intellisense is only available on Office 365.

How do you get these features?
First, you'll need to be on Office 365. Sorry Excel 2016 and 2019, but my understanding is that these new features are only coming to subscription users. (That's another reason that - in my opinion - you should never buy another 4 digit numbered release of Excel ever again.)
If you are on subscription, you get them with your regular updates. This feature set hit the Insider build channel last month in version 1907. It's currently also been deployed to those on the Monthly Targeted channel running version 1907, build 11901.20080 or newer.
If you're not on the Monthly Targeted channel, you'll need some patience, as it's coming. Just keep checking those updates!

Rudi

Re: Power Query Function list not displaying
Is it possible that being offline vs online with Office 365 may have something to do with this type of behavior?
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Power Query Function list not displaying
I don't think that is the case. Office 365 has the feature (whether on or offline). The non-subscription versions do not have the intellisense (according to Ken Puls!).

The Office Professional 2016 is the one I have. Let's hope that Microsoft will integrate this fix in their future updates.
Thanks Rudy and Merry Christmas and Happy new year.
