Hardly! A USB Flash Drive is remarkably slow, running (probably) at USB 2.0 speeds, an absolute maximum of 480 Mbps, whereas an SSD runs off the SATA bus, maybe at 3 Gbps!

Well, when you put it that way...

What I meant was, I'll bet a USB flash drive is faster a mechanical hard drive.

And it is technically an SSD -- a solid state drive -- although certainly not nearly as fast as a SATA-connected SSD.
