That has always been true, and not just for CCleaner. Many providers of free software try to earn some money by bundling offers of other software with theirs.

I would much prefer it to be opt-in instead of opt-out, but in this case, it is at least clearly visible on the first screen of the installer. Some providers require you to click Customize to see the check box (ticked by default).

Caught me a while back for Avast ... I had got so used to a 'clean' CCleaner. Getting rid of all the links & Avast files was a bit of a challenge ... I use the standard W10 Defender plus Malwarebytes.

If you use the portable version you need not worry about this.

If you wait for a few days after a new version appears then you can get the 'slim version' from the builds page so you do not need to worry about this.

I took your advice Joe. As I have a few different programs on each pc, I did the download separately.
The funny part is, I used Revo to uninstall Google Chrome recently, but its aettings showed on my Desktop pc but not my Laptop.
