Fonts Size

Post by Roderunner »

Hi Folks, I am using my Packard-Bell Laptop running Win.7 Home Prem. 32bit Running Google Chrome.
I use Gmail, Which I access using Thunderbird. ( I was using the portable version but it's now installed )
All my Fonts seem to have shrunk. The first one I tried to fix was the email from Eileen's. I got it enlarged by setting 'View' tab > Zoom (text Only) by holding Ctrl button and using my mouse wheel. Opening another message the text was of a different size, sometimes larger or smaller.
I have been playing with the 'Theme Font & size changer addon plus the settings 'Options' to no avail.
( My settings in Chrome have not changed as I have a record of it's settings).
Every other places I've been have all got smaller fonts. My Gmail, Start Menu and Desktop icons to name only a few.
I have had Tbird installed for a week or 2 before this happened.
It seems to have started when a new version of Google Calendar became available. I tried it but don't like it so reverted to Classic version.

Regards,
George.

I fonts have shrunk in Windows and all applications, it must be a Windows setting.

Click the Start button.
Type font size in the search box, then press Enter.
If "Smaller - 100%" is currently selected, select "Medium - 125%", and if that is already selected, select "Large - 150%". If you want more precise control, click "Set custom text size (DPI)" in the navigation pane on the left.
Best wishes,
Hans

Have you changed the resolution of your monitor? (The second item in the navigation pane on the left: Adjust resolution)

Hi John, that will only reset the zoom to normal if the page size had been increased.

No, I did not as the pages I have increased the font size on would be counterproductive. I am trying to ascertain why the fonts have decreased in size and what to do to rectify it.

Here are the pages I have increased the font on, none of them that I visit require a decrease in size.

My link should get you a small .docx file to show what I have done. Sadly I never copied the original settings as I knew I could reset to default anytime if I didn't like it. I've been using these settings for a few years.
