While on the subject of the return of the lost clapping smiley
Is it possible to copy smileys from this (or other) forums to use in email client such as Thunderbird
If so how? and is it legal or does copyright and suchlike come into it?

Re: smileys and emoticons use
You can use our smileys for non-commercial purposes (see Rule #13 in our House Rules).
To download a smiley, right-click it and select 'Save image as...' or similar from the context menu (the exact text depends on the browser).

Thanks for pointing out the rule. I see it saves as a .gif file which can be saved for other use.
