Image Resizer powertoy

Post by ChrisGreaves »

I have been using this happily for a couple of years. Today it seems to have stopped working (for me) and I'm puzzled as to why.
I re-installed it, rebooted, and tried again.
My mode of operation is to select a set of 20 images,
  • r/c,
  • choose "resize Pictures",
  • select "Small" then
  • "Advanced" and
  • "make pictures smaller" and
  • "resize the original pictures".
Typically a 400KB JPG image would shrink to 10% its size, but today - Nada!

Any clues gratefully accepted.

Perhaps the images have already been optimally compressed?
Best wishes,

Yabbut ....
Thanks for the quick response, Hans.
  • In the past, my camera pictures have reduced from 400KB to 40KB, give or take and
  • My screenshot shows that the original image is 2048x1536 and the images will not reduce and
  • Inspection of past months images shows (Windows Explorer) that they are reduced to 640x480.
I have just tried editing (MSPaint) and re-saving in case there was something quirky with the format.

My puzzlement stems form using this camera for two years now, and a web-page building procedure I follow called "Load the pictures to the hard drive, resize them, Insert them (link) into a Word document".
That is, I am a creature of habit and don't feel that I've changed.
