Lounge servers down?

Post by ChrisGreaves »

Is it too soon to start a new thread asking whether the servers were down for a short time this evening?

Yup.
I noticed a stuttering around 20 minutes ago (it's now 20:15 Toronto, so say 8pm Toronto), then as I was composing this fun thread, UI chose "Preview" and got the response you see above.
I selected, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V as is.

I must say it gave me a bit of a start - a precocious ante-heuristic Lounge.
but then, what with all you bright sparks behind it ....

I didn't get an error message, but pages do seem to load slower than usual.

That's what you get when you try to recreate the "old" Lounge.

Seriously, I have no idea of what causes it. If it persists, Mike can take a look at the server logs, I hope.
Best wishes,
Hans

I'm guessing mind you, but maybe it was during the time Mike was working on that external links thing... :duck:

I just happened to check "Slinky's" profile on WSl and he has a url posted to this site so maybe there was a great influx seeing what was going on???????? I too noticed the slower loading of pages and went back and watched my Vikings get beat....heck of a game though~!~!~!

I hadn't changed Slinky's profile yet when the slowdown here occurred, so that cannot have been the cause. But I have no idea what it was...
Best wishes,
Hans

I just got this message about two minutes ago:
Error 500 - Internal server error
An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later
.
There probably isn't anything we can check on our end of the Internet, is there?
It was gone as quickly as it showed up. It happened when I tried to open one of the forums. When I clicked again, all was well. Just reporting in case there can be a pattern developing for Mike to follow.

Perhaps, then, it's what we might tolerate with a 512MB/40GB server, or whataver it is.
Seriously, if it is just an occasional timing error, and if 9as in my case) recovery was as easy as clicking the "back" button then the "submit" button again, what have we to complain about? :nope:

Chris: It wasn't me that was complaining........Only making a note about it in case it might help if the glitch becomes more consistent.

It is now a proper shared service hosted by an Internet Service Provider.

I know, I know, Oh Gentle One!
I figure that IF the cost of a great service is the occasional back-submit, we (you and I et al.) don't have much to complain about.
We are on the same wave-length.
Now, what about my suggestion that you and I experiment at being FOEs?
