is there a time limit on Windows 8.1 preview?

Apparently the new update for Windows 8 is being released in October. I have been playing with the 8.1 preview download from Microsoft to a VMware machine (not sure yet if I like it or not). My question is what happens to this trial version once it's officially released? I cant find any statement refering to a time trial but surely Microsoft wont allow people to keep using it.

According to this thread what is the end of use date for windows 8.1 preview? the end date is January 15, 2014.
