Was sign-in options done by me or Windows Update?

Could it be incase you forgot your PIN or Password?

Windows 11 has 4 sign-in options. Which one are available depends on your hardware.
1) Password
2) PIN
3) Fingerprint recognition (requires fingerprint sensor)
4) Facial recognition (requires camera)

The only 2 I have encountered is Password + PIN
