Cue the theme music to The Twilight Zone.
The last think I did last night before shutting down was to download Wordpress and XAMPP installation files. I remember it clearly because I had to wait for a bit longer than usual for XAMPP to download. I downloaded them separately, waiting for Wordpress download to finish before starting XAMPP download.
Today there is no sign of either download having occurred despite my having checked the Downloads folder last night. The only working storage is the internal HDD on my HP laptop. I've looked with Everything and with File Explorer. I have not rebooted since.
What might have happened to cause the downloads to disappear?
