On the Hardware board I asked for ideas on new hardware. Given that's for a home environment it reasonable to assume that Win Home is all I need but some of the options I've looked at come with Win 10 Pro by default, though this can be 'downgraded' to Home.
Would I need to bother to do that though? Other than being able to connect to a domain (which I'm never likely to have in my home) are there any extra features in Pro over home? The cost saving in downgrading is minimal.

Re: home vs pro
Two useful extra features in Windows 10 Pro:
- Bitlocker file/disk encryption.
- The ability to defer updates.
See Windows 10 Home vs Windows 10 Pro: What extra features do you get in Windows 10 Pro? for an in-depth comparison.

Re: home vs pro
It seems you can. That plus the ability to defer (some) updates has sold me on Pro.
