1. If you miss a more traditional start menu there is one. It is a blend of the Win7 text and Win8.1 tiles.
2. Universal/Metro apps run on the desktop and can be resized.
3. Virtual desktops allow you to organize your work however you wish. I see this primarily useful if you work on more than one project at a time. You can keep everything associated with a project on one desktop isolated from the others.
4. Compatible with almost anything that runs on Win8.1.
5. Faster boot times than older versions.
6. Cortana can be useful. Depends on how you feel about the information required to be collected for an electronic assistant to be useful.
7. With multiple Win10 devices I like mail, people, and browser favorites being sync'ed over the devices.
8. I like the continuous updating (others don't) rather than waiting for a service pack.
9. Centralized action center for notifications.
10. Universal apps show promise with ability to run on any Win10 device. Not quite there but getting closer.
11. Battery life generally better on mobile devices. YMMV

You should also look at Frequently Asked Questions: Windows 10 created be MVP Andre Da Casta. It is pretty lengthy but has lots of useful information.
