Everything going smoothly until I chose not to install straight away - I thought that I could decide if/when I actually did the install; ie, a couple of days or a couple of months even, waiting for things to settle down first. However, all I was given as an option was a screen with a 24 hour movable clock and the option to install either today (8th) or 9th or 10th, Monday - no other option. I chose the 10th at 1600 to give me a bit of time to report back here in case there was a way to keep the installation date rolling forward.
Now the confusing bit! (see screen shot below)

At this point I just ignored what was on the screen shot and shut my computer down via the 'start' - 'shutdown' button, rather than selecting the 'restart now' button. I fully expected that when I turned my computer on this afternoon that everything would be taken out of my hands and the installation would begin. It didn't! All seemed normal - then I noticed the windows download logo on my task bar (capture 4). Clicking on this produced the screen shot above (capture 3).

Not now sure at exactly where I am! Will the installation start automatically on 10th (the date I chose) or can I just ignore the 'new updates ready' logo on my task bar and continue to shut my computer down by the 'start' button, thus holding off on when I decide the installation should go ahead? I guess the question will be, at least partly, resolved at 1600 on Monday when/when not the chosen installation time arrives!
I'll update on installation/not installation thereafter, but not under this thread - unless I still have hardware problems to come!!
My apologies for the verbosity - trying to convey what actually happened, but probably not very successfully!!
