Laptop keeps switching back to Win8.1 screen from Win7 scree

Hi, I dont know if anybody can throw an light on this, but I have a laptop with win 8.1

I do most of my work with it switched to the Win7 format window. However, it very often switches itself back to the Win8 format window. I then have to hover over the top left until the Win7 mini window appears and then click on that to get back to where I was.

As all my DB stuff is done from the Win7 screen, this is really annoying.

Does anybody know why this keeps occurring and is there any way I can tell the laptop to stay on the Win7 screen until I explicitly switch to the Win8 screen.

Also, does anyone know what the shortcut key presses are for switching windows (I am thinking that perhaps I am inadvertenly hitting these shortcuts when working on the laptop).

The shortcut key to toggle between tiles and the desktop is the [WIN] key on the keyboard.

Also, to have Win8.1 start with the desktop when you restart or log-in, do the following:
1. Right-click on the Windows 8.1 taskbar, then choose Properties.
2. Click on the Navigation tab, then under the Start screen section
3. Check the box next to "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start."

The Windows key toggles between the Desktop (what you call the Windows 7 screen) and the Start screen (what you call the Windows 8 screen). Perhaps you accidentally press this key?
