Hi all,
Wondering if the following is possible. I have a laptop (running win 10 home) which has a number of programs on them which have (legally) been installed on this laptop, eg Adobe CS6, camtasia; I'll call this laptop B. However, I don't have any installation files. I want to use a different computer (also running win 10) to run the programs on that computer. I'll call this laptop A. Can I somehow access the programs installed on laptop B through laptop A, as in, without needing to reinstall them on laptop A?

Re: Run programs installed on a different computer
You can use Remote Desktop to run a program on laptop B from laptop A - see How to use Remote Desktop. But the program won't run on laptop A (besides, that would circumvent the license agreement in many cases).
Best wishes,
Hans

Remote Desktop is not included with the Home version, but you can download it from Microsoft Store. I have no idea whether it will work.
There are alternatives such as AnyViewer and PsExec.

So, if I'm understanding correctly, if a program has been installed on laptop B, I can only run it from laptop B?

Re: Run programs installed on a different computer
You need to check the licensing agreement for each program to determine the limits. Some programs allow usage on multiple devices. If so, you'd still need the installation media and license key to install on another system.

You can use a tool such as EaseUS key finder to find the keys. You can also search the internet to download the installation media for your version of the products.

You can download prior versions of Camtasia at Download old versions. TechSmith software generally can be installed on two computers for each paid user.
Adobe CS6 can be used on two computers too. See CS6 install instructions for download instructions.

Re: Run programs installed on a different computer
JoeP, thankyou sooooo much for this advice. I had known about magical jellybean key finder before but have generally found it does an extremely poor job of finding keys. I tried easeus which found some but then wouldn't show them without me paying. I looked around and discovered something called LicenceCrawler, which is free for personal use, and found every single one of my licences, and more than I knew I had. Incredible program.Using this, and using your link to camtasia, I've now successfully installed Camtasia (one down, two to go...). Next is a timetabling program, which I've managed to get the installation files from a colleage (again, all legal).
The final one is Adobe. As usual, this is the tricky one. I have the full product key, and have actually managed to find links to CS6 (all 6+GB...) and downloaded and installed "successfully". My current hurdle is being able to sign in to an adobe account (which was never required before). I am still trying to navigate this one.
Regardless, your posts have greatly helped so far...
